  • Children's Home of Poughkeepsie

    This will be a great family project!
    Start time: 9:30 am
    Projects to include:
    1. Nature trail, cleaning fallen brush & trees, wood chips to fill in some areas along the trail, with use of wheelbarrows.
    2. Some simple flower planting by the buildings.

    Please bring: your favorite rake or shovel, work gloves, sun hat and sunscreen, bug spray, boots.
    Location: Poughkeepsie area


  • Grace Smith House

    This will be a great family project!
    Gardening & clean-up of the yard for the outdoor space of their housing community.
    Bring: Work gloves, sunscreen, sunhat, boots,
    Location: Poughkeepsie area


  • Pershing Ave. Historic Cemetery

    This will be a great family project!
    Clean-up a historical cemetery, garbage bags will be provided to remove debris.
    Please Bring: Work gloves, sunscreen, sunhat.
    Location: 37 Pershing Ave., Poughkeepsie


  • Cereal Counts

    Boxing up donated cereal to distribute to the following pantries:
    Dutchess Outreach food pantry
    Rhinebeck Reformed Church food pantry
    The Morse Elementary School
    Location: headquarters.


  • PJ Corner

    Various children's activities, including making Mother's Day cards for Grace Smith House and story time!
    Location: at Headquarters.


  • Baking for the Lunch Box

    Baking cookies for the Lunch Box, appropriate for all ages.
    Location: Temple Beth-El, 118 S. Grand Ave, Poughkeepsie


  • Crafting Corner

    Making cards & kids gifts for the residents of Grace Smith House, appropriate for all ages.

    Location: at Headquarters.


  • Cereal Counts & Personal Hygiene Collection

    Bring New Boxes of Cereal or Personal Hygiene items (soap, shampoo, and/or conditioner) for our Mitzvah Day-Drive to Congregation Schomre Israel.
    Or
    Bring them ahead of time to: JFedDC office, Congregation Shir Chadash, Congregation Schomre Israel, The Harding Club, Temple Beth-EL or Vassar Temple.

  • Blankets for cancer patients

    Making blankets by tying the fringes into knots, these will be distributed to cancer patients. This is appropriate for all ages.
