We invite members of the community to participate in two Community Security Trainings designed to strengthen awareness, improve response, and equip individuals with the skills needed to protect themselves and those around them.
These programs address both prevention and action — from recognizing early warning signs to responding effectively if a situation escalates. Together, they provide a comprehensive foundation for personal and communal safety.

Situational Awareness with CSI Thursday, March 12 | 6:30-8:00 PM
Security incidents often unfold quickly. Recognizing the signs early makes a difference. Join us for an important Community Security Training focused on recognizing suspicious activity, thinking ahead, and preventing potentially dangerous situations from escalating.
The program will explore how to identify concerning behavior, strengthen personal and communal awareness, and respond calmly and effectively under pressure. It will be led by Patrick Regan, Senior Regional Security Director for the Greater Hudson Valley Community Security Initiative (CSI), with time for questions and discussion. | Self-Defense Training with CSS Wednesday, March 18 | 6:00-9:00 PM
In today’s climate, the threat of potential violence is real — and preparation is more important than ever.
This hands-on training focuses on identifying pre-attack indicators — the behavioral cues that often appear before a situation turns physical — and learning effective techniques to protect yourself and those around you. Participants will be introduced to core Krav Maga principles and practice defensive responses designed for real-world situations.
This session is led by Ofer Shalom, Director of Training for the Community Security Service (CSS).
